Through the efforts of the City of Brockton Planning Department, and with the cooperation of KPNA members, we are delighted to report that in January 2016 Brockton was awarded a $231,000 PARC grant for improvements to Keith Park.
Matched with an additional $100,000 of federal grant funding, the $331,000 will allow enhancements such as new lighting, a power source for events, rebuilding our fencing, and perhaps reviving our fountain and rebuilding our gazebo. Starting in the spring of 2016, the city will host a number of community meetings asking for neighbors' input into what we would like to see in the park. The project will span a two year period from planning to construction. So stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for updates on when and where those initial public meetings will take place. What would YOU like to see happen in our park?

The community answered that question at two public hearings: #1 was to restore the fountain, #2 was to add lighting and power, #3 was to consider making a natural amphitheater/bowl for plays and concerts, #4 was to remove the damaged stone wall and preserve only the original stone wall that was part of the Keith Estate.
The final public hearing is June 9th, so stay tuned!
