George E. Keith Park Rededication Celebration
September 23, 2017
Members of the Keith Family, neighbors, city and state officials all gathered on September 23, 2017 to celebration the rededication of the George E. Keith Park. Guests learned of the history of the Keith Family, Walk-Over Shoe, the original donation of the park to the city in 1952, and the work of the landscape design firm the Olmsted Brothers, sons of Frederick Law Olmsted. The handing of the deed photo from 1952 was recreated by members of the Keith Family representing Myron and Jean and Eleanor; State Representative Claire Cronin representing her uncle, then-mayor Gerald Lucey, and a copy of the deed was created by Plymouth County Register of Deeds John Buckley and presented to the Keiths and to Representative Cronin by the Keith Park Neighborhood Association.
